Casualty Toll in Armed Dispute Over Agricultural Land South of Babil Rises to Five Dead and Wounded

Medical and security sources in Babil Governorate confirmed that the casualty toll from an armed dispute that erupted in an agricultural area south of the province has risen to two dead and three injured. According to preliminary information, the clash, which occurred in the "Al-Awadel" area late Thursday evening, stemmed from disagreements over agricultural land ownership and quickly escalated into an exchange of gunfire. Immediate interventions by security forces resulted in controlling the situation and arresting six individuals involved in the incident. The detainees are currently under investigation to complete legal proceedings and uncover the circumstances of the case, while the injured receive treatment at local hospitals, with one reported to be in critical condition.
