Iraq Participates in the International Security Forum in Moscow and Reaffirms its Commitment to Regional De-escalation
Directed by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Prime Minister Ali Falih Al-Zaidi, National Security Advisor Qasim Al-Araji traveled to the Russian capital, Moscow, on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, to participate in the first International Security Forum. In an official statement, Al-Araji emphasized that the visit is part of Baghdad's efforts to broaden the horizons of strategic partnership with Russia and enhance joint cooperation in security and economic domains. During his meeting with the Secretary of the Russian National Security Council, Al-Araji conveyed the greetings of the Iraqi leadership to the Russian President, underscoring Iraq's diligent and continuous efforts to de-escalate tensions in the Middle East. He highlighted that these efforts are based on a national vision centered on prioritizing dialogue and diplomatic solutions to ensure regional stability.
