Iraq and Syria Sign Joint Technical Minutes to Regulate Water Resources Management and Data Coordination

The Ministry of Water Resources announced the signing of joint technical minutes with its counterpart in the Syrian Arab Republic, aiming to strengthen cooperation frameworks in managing shared water resources and exchanging accurate data. The signing concluded technical discussions held in the capital, Baghdad, with the participation of specialized delegations from both countries to address files related to the Euphrates River and water issues of mutual interest. Both sides emphasized the necessity of sustaining direct technical dialogue and developing joint coordination mechanisms to support mutual institutional efforts. This step is part of the ongoing endeavors by concerned authorities to solidify regional coordination with neighboring countries, ensuring the sustainable management of water and protecting national water shares and rights in accordance with technical and historical agreements.
