Success of Ashura Traffic Plan with Significant Nationwide Drop in Accidents Recorded

The General Traffic Directorate announced the success of its strategic plan for managing the movement of pilgrims and vehicles during the Ashura observance in Karbala. Official statistics showed that over 198,000 vehicles of various categories entered the province, achieving a traffic flow rate exceeding 70% and a deployment coverage of 99%. The Directorate confirmed zero traffic accidents or injuries within Karbala, alongside a fully successful reverse dispatch plan. Nationally, a remarkable 67% decrease in traffic accidents and an 80% drop in violations were recorded, with zero traffic-related fatalities nationwide during the pilgrimage period, credited to the intensified deployment of patrols and speed radars on major highways.
