Federal Integrity Commission Calls on Tribes to Take a Firm Stance Against the Corrupt and Socially Boycott Them
The Federal Integrity Commission issued an official call to authentic Iraqi tribes to adopt a resolute societal stance against those involved in corruption cases by socially boycotting them and closing their doors to them, thereby cementing the rule of law and supporting the reform trajectory. The Commission underscored the importance of strengthening partnerships between state institutions and the community to combat behaviors that harm public funds. Recalling the tribes' prominent national role in preserving civil peace and fighting terrorism, the Commission urged leveraging this legacy in the fight against corruption. Discussions between oversight bodies, security agencies, and tribal representatives have led to a move toward drafting a tribal code of honor to support integrity, reject the protection of suspects, and emphasize the importance of boycotting the corrupt while rejecting nepotism in state institutions.
