Ministry of Justice Wins International Lawsuit in Favor of South Refineries Company

The Iraqi Ministry of Justice announced a legal achievement by winning a lawsuit and securing a final, irrevocable ruling from the Amman Court of Appeal in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan in favor of the State Company for South Refineries, affiliated with the Ministry of Oil. The Ministry clarified that the Legal Directorate followed up on the proceedings before the Jordanian judiciary until the final decision was issued, obligating a Jordanian company to pay financial compensation for breaching its contractual obligations under an agreement signed in 2011. This achievement underscores the Iraqi government's commitment to protecting public funds and safeguarding the state's rights abroad, thereby strengthening Iraq's position in protecting its legal interests at both regional and international levels.
