AI Technologies Predict Mental Disorders in Children Through Linguistic Style Analysis
A recent psychological study has revealed the possibility of using artificial intelligence models to predict future mental health problems in children by analyzing their everyday language. Research conducted on a group of children aged between 9 and 13 showed that linguistic structure and sentence formulation, such as the frequent use of conjunctions and pronouns, are more accurate indicators of declining mental health than the direct content of speech. The technology successfully detected the likelihood of developing disorders such as anxiety and depression before reaching adolescence, offering promising opportunities for early therapeutic intervention. Additionally, the use of terms expressing physical violence or severe social exclusion was linked to higher probabilities of psychological issues, while vocabulary related to support, friendship, and sports reflected sound mental health.
