Baghdad Governor Launches Comprehensive Plan to Reform Municipal Sector and Boost Local Revenues
The Governor of Baghdad announced the launch of a strategic plan titled "Municipal Course Correction," aimed at improving services and maximizing local revenues. The plan introduces a strict monthly evaluation system for service departments to measure performance and hold underachievers accountable. During an extensive meeting with municipal directors, the Governor pledged full legal protection and support for officials against any external pressures or interference, ensuring a secure working environment. Discussions also focused on resolving pending service issues, notably waste management through scientific landfilling, removing illegal encroachments, preventing the destruction of agricultural lands, and expediting the processing of building permits and the distribution of residential plots to eligible citizens.
