Casualties and Injuries Following Various Traffic Accidents in Five Iraqi Governorates During the Eid Holiday
Medical sources reported on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, the death of one individual and injuries to 17 others as a result of various traffic accidents across five Iraqi governorates during the first day of the Eid al-Adha holiday. The sources indicated that the accidents, which occurred in Baghdad, Diyala, Al-Anbar, Nineveh, and Dhi Qar, resulted in varying injuries among civilians, including a security personnel member, employees, women, and children. Three critical cases were transferred to intensive care units for urgent treatment. Initial reports attributed the primary causes of these accidents to excessive speeding and reckless overtaking.
