The Dhi Qar Criminal Court sentenced two individuals to 10 years in prison for impersonating an advisor to the President of the Supreme Judicial Council. Judicial authorities confirmed that the convicts utilized the fraudulent title to extort funds from a citizen in exchange for false promises to secure the release of a relative convicted on drug-related charges. The sentence was delivered in accordance with Decree No. 160 of 1983 (as amended) and relevant provisions of the Penal Code governing criminal conspiracy and impersonation.
