Dismantling of a Counterfeit Currency Ring in Erbil Following an Armed Confrontation

Security forces in the Kurdistan Region announced the arrest of a gang specializing in the distribution and exchange of counterfeit currency, following precise intelligence surveillance and tracking operations. The gang members engaged the executing force with gunfire during the arrest attempt, resulting in injuries to several security personnel. The gang had been luring victims through social media platforms under the guise of selling currency, only to rob them at gunpoint. The suspects have been detained under relevant legal articles pending the completion of the investigation.
