Federal Government Initiates Procedures to Integrate Sinjar Protection Units into Official Security System

mesoiraq - The federal government has initiated practical steps to disengage the Sinjar Protection Units and officially integrate their elements within the formations of government security forces, in preparation for transferring full security responsibility in the region to the federal authorities.

Official authorities affirmed that these procedures come in implementation of the government program aimed at confining arms to the state and enhancing the rule of law and the establishment of security and stability in the Sinjar district.

The leadership appreciated the great sacrifices made by the sons of the Yazidi community in defeating terrorism, confirming the state's commitment to safeguarding their rights, compensating the affected, and accelerating the reconstruction wheel in the district.
