General Traffic Directorate Denies Permitting Vehicle Window Tinting and Warns Violators of Fines
The General Traffic Directorate categorically denied circulated reports suggesting that vehicle window tinting is permitted, affirming that current laws prohibit this practice at any percentage. The Directorate clarified that although a proposal was submitted to amend the law to allow specific tinting limits, no official approvals have been issued to date. It stressed that the penalty for violators includes the immediate removal of the tint along with a strict financial fine, noting at the same time its respect for the applicable laws in the Kurdistan Region, which allow tinting under specific legal fees and conditions.
