Government Announces Plan to Reduce Parallel Market Dollar Exchange Rate to 1,550 Dinars

mesoiraq Government spokesperson Haider Al-Abboudi announced that the government and the Central Bank are working according to a well-studied plan to bring the parallel market dollar exchange rate to 1,550 dinars per dollar in the near term. Al-Abboudi explained that the plan is based on secured and sufficient reserves at the Central Bank, enabling the smooth financing of foreign trade and meeting import needs. Regarding transfers prior to the adoption of the current exchange rate, he confirmed that the necessary financial allocations have been secured to complete them according to the previous rate and fulfill associated obligations. He added that the decision to exempt imported food items and medicines from customs duties has begun implementation.
