High-Level Iraqi Delegation Discusses Resuming Oil Exports and Renewing Pipeline Agreement in Ankara
A high-level Iraqi delegation, comprising officials from the Ministries of Foreign Affairs and Oil, alongside representatives from the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, held official talks in Ankara to discuss the future of the Iraqi-Turkish pipeline agreement and the resumption of oil exports. The delegation conducted a series of technical meetings with senior officials from the Turkish Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, during which they reviewed the legal and technical mechanisms to ensure the continuous flow of Iraqi oil to global markets via Turkish ports. The discussions resulted in an initial consensus to move toward signing a new executive protocol, serving as a transitional phase to guarantee the continuity of exports, including oil from the Kurdistan Region, and paving the way for a comprehensive strategic agreement between the two countries within a maximum period of one year.
