Integrity Commission Detains Three Officials in Maysan on Charges of Misappropriating Pension Funds

mesoiraq - The Federal Integrity Commission announced the apprehension of three officials in the General Company for Electric Power Transmission in Maysan Governorate on charges of intentionally causing harm to public funds and misappropriating contractors' pension deductions.

Investigations showed that the suspects—the accounts manager, his deputy, and the payroll officer—failed to remit pension deductions withheld from contract employees' salaries since 2019, amounting to approximately 390 million dinars, retaining them for personal gain.

A formal seizure report was prepared and the suspects were presented before the competent investigative judge, who decided to detain them pursuant to the provisions of the penal code.
