Integrity Commission Initiates Decisive Actions to Resume Work on Shuala and Hurriya Hospitals
mesoiraq - The Federal Integrity Commission announced on Sunday, August 23, 2026, the commencement of decisive measures to resolve the prolonged delays in the Shuala and Hurriya hospital projects in Baghdad. An official statement detailed that the completion rate stands at 92.7% for Shuala Hospital and 73% for Hurriya Hospital. The commission attributed the stalling primarily to a lack of funding, delayed financial disbursements, and hurdles in infrastructure integration and medical equipment procurement. Noting that the Hurriya Hospital project experienced a staggering halt of 3,285 days due to various obstacles, the commission confirmed that high-level coordination with government bodies has begun. This aims to secure the necessary financial allocations and expedite the hospitals' operational readiness.
