Interior Ministry Reports 18 Percent Decline in Crime Rates and Major Anti-Drug Seizures in the First Half of the Year

The Ministry of Interior announced a significant 18% reduction in overall crime rates nationwide during the first half of the year compared to previous periods. In a press conference, the Ministry's spokesperson detailed major security achievements, including the seizure of approximately 1,977 kilograms of narcotics and the arrest of 3,553 suspects on drug-related charges, resulting in severe judicial sentences, including 58 death sentences and 236 life imprisonments. The Ministry also conducted 17 cross-border operations in coordination with regional partners. Key achievements also included dismantling human trafficking and antiquity smuggling rings, combating cyber-blackmail, arresting perpetrators of tribal disputes, and registering over 2.6 million traffic violations to enhance road safety.
