Iraq and Iran Activate Prisoner Transfer Agreement, Handing Over 49 Inmates via Mehran Border
mesoiraq - The Iranian Ministry of Justice announced the transfer of 49 Iranian nationals serving sentences in Iraqi prisons back to their home country via the Mehran border crossing. The ministry stated that this step comes within the framework of activating joint security and judicial agreements between Baghdad and Tehran regarding the exchange and transfer of sentenced individuals to complete their prison terms domestically.
