Iraq Initiates Extensive International Efforts to Recover Smuggled Funds and Wanted Individuals

The Federal Commission of Integrity announced the drafting of international memorandums of understanding aimed at recovering looted funds and individuals wanted in corruption cases. The relevant recovery department emphasized a disparity in international cooperation, noting that some countries remain uncooperative due to economic or legal reasons, while others show notable support. The Iraqi government has intensified its efforts to pursue corrupt individuals through negotiations and alternative mechanisms, in addition to signing advanced cooperation agreements with international police to expand direct access to databases of wanted persons.
