Iraq Integrity Commission Reaffirms Commitment to Public Fund Protection and International Cooperation

The Head of the Iraqi Federal Integrity Commission, Mohammad Ali Al-Lami, affirmed that safeguarding public assets and combating corruption remain top government priorities, supported by the legislative and judicial branches. Speaking during a meeting with Finnish Ambassador Antti Putkonen, Al-Lami highlighted that curbing corruption demands robust international cooperation and streamlined legal procedures to retrieve stolen assets while maintaining a secure, extortion-free climate for foreign investors. The two parties discussed establishing a memorandum of understanding with Finland's anti-corruption body to share technical expertise and implement specialized training programs. The Finnish ambassador lauded Iraq's tangible anti-corruption measures and expressed his country's readiness to strengthen bilateral anti-corruption partnerships.
