Iraqi-Egyptian Agreement Facilitates the Resumption of Truck Movement to Boost Trade Exchange

mesoiraq - The Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo announced on Sunday, August 16, 2026, the conclusion of an official agreement with Egyptian authorities to once again allow empty Iraqi trucks to enter Egyptian territory. This mutual understanding was the result of diligent efforts and follow-up by the Iraqi diplomatic mission in coordination with the Egyptian Ministry of Transport. The Embassy emphasized that this step will significantly contribute to revitalizing land transport and expanding the volume of trade exchange between the two nations. Furthermore, the issue will be included in the agenda of joint technical committee meetings scheduled for September to establish sustainable operational mechanisms and facilitate regulatory procedures.
