Iraqi-Iranian Talks to Enhance Bilateral Cooperation in Telecommunications and Cybersecurity
The Iraqi Minister of Telecommunications discussed with his Iranian counterpart the prospects of joint cooperation in the telecommunications sector, focusing on upgrading coordination during major religious pilgrimages. Both sides addressed the importance of exchanging expertise in cybersecurity, digital transformation, and electronic payment sectors. The Iraqi side emphasized the significance of leveraging the advanced Iranian experience in cybersecurity and digital transformation, particularly in sovereign applications for navigation, transportation, and electronic payment. It was agreed to form joint technical committees to exchange successful experiences, highlighting the strong ties between the two countries, which are connected by six vital optical cable ports, in addition to their shared history in confronting security challenges.
