Iraqi Judiciary Issues Prison Sentences Against Members of Extremist Group

mesoiraq - The Central Criminal Court issued prison sentences against two individuals affiliated with an extremist group carrying deviant ideological views. According to a judicial statement, the court sentenced the first convict to six years in prison for incitement, while the second convict received a one-year light prison term, pursuant to Law No. 32 of 2016 prohibiting racist, terrorist, and takfiri entities, in conjunction with provisions of the Iraqi Penal Code.
