Israeli Airstrikes Target Southern Lebanon and Mount Lebanon, Including a Building Housing Displaced Persons in Al-Saksakiyeh
Lebanese media outlets reported today, Saturday (May 9, 2026), that several areas in southern Lebanon and Mount Lebanon were subjected to a series of Israeli airstrikes, including the targeting of a building housing displaced families in the town of Al-Saksakiyeh.
The outlets stated that an Israeli airstrike targeted the town of Ain Baal in southern Lebanon, simultaneously with the targeting of a vehicle on the Al-Saadiyat coastal road in Mount Lebanon by an Israeli drone.
They added that another strike hit a building in the town of Al-Saksakiyeh in southern Lebanon, noting that the building was housing families displaced from southern areas.
Reports confirmed that civil defense teams have begun search and debris removal operations, and are working to extract the bodies of victims and the injured from the targeted building in Al-Saksakiyeh.
Media outlets also pointed to the execution of an additional strike by an Israeli drone on the Damour coastal road in Mount Lebanon, amid continued intensive drone flights in Lebanese airspace.
