Kurdistan Region Begins Solidifying Its Position on 2027 Budget: Fixing Rights and Ensuring Salaries Without Delay
mesoiraq - The negotiating delegation of the Kurdistan Regional Government discussed on Saturday (September 12, 2026) with the Kurdistan Democratic Party bloc in the Federal Parliament the latest developments in preparations for drafting the Federal Budget Law for 2027.
The delegation stated in an official statement that the meeting addressed the outcomes of its recent negotiations in Baghdad with the federal ministries of Finance, Planning, and Oil, as well as discussing the regional government's key visions and proposals regarding next year's budget.
The attendees emphasized the importance of securing the constitutional and financial rights and entitlements of the Kurdistan Region, foremost among them ensuring the continuous disbursement of salaries and various financial dues without delay, and keeping the salary file away from financial and political disputes.
The meeting stressed the need for coordination during all stages of preparing and enacting the budget law, while continuing dialogue and coordination with all Kurdish blocs and the region's representatives in parliament, with the aim of formulating a unified position that preserves the rights and entitlements of the people of the Kurdistan Region within the 2027 budget.
