Major Forgery Network Dismantled in Basra Over Multi-Billion Dinar Embezzlement

mesoiraq - The National Security Service in Basra announced on Thursday (August 20) the dismantling of a forgery network and the arrest of three suspects, including a primary school principal. The individuals were involved in processing fraudulent land compensation claims related to the West Qurna oil field, embezzling billions of dinars. Authorities seized 36 official and tribal stamps, significant amounts of cash, and real estate properties acquired through these illicit activities. Investigations led to the apprehension of a primary accomplice, a division director in a local district. All suspects have been detained and referred to the competent judicial authorities.
