Ministry of Electricity Reveals Strategic Plan to Increase Production Capacity to 35,000 Megawatts

The Ministry of Electricity announced a comprehensive strategic plan aimed at adding thousands of megawatts to the national grid, targeting a production capacity of 35,000 megawatts in the coming years. The plan is based on several core pillars, including constructing new power plants, completing stalled projects, and converting existing plants to combined-cycle systems to enhance efficiency. The strategy also involves expanding solar energy projects and upgrading transmission and distribution networks. The ministry relies on two parallel tracks: investing in local gas and reducing flaring, alongside diversifying fuel import sources. Furthermore, the ministry confirmed that regional grid interconnection projects with neighboring countries are proceeding on schedule to improve grid flexibility and ensure stability during peak loads.
