Ministry of Water Resources Sets November Launch for Major National Campaign Against System Abuses
Minister of Water Resources Muthanna Al-Tamimi chaired the ministry's seventh advisory board meeting, alongside senior officials and parliamentary committee representatives, to review strategic water management plans. The minister announced November 1st as the official launch date for a major national campaign to remove illegal encroachments on the irrigation system and unauthorized fish farms, ensuring equitable water distribution. The meeting also highlighted efforts to combat invasive Nile water hyacinth, discussed employee housing land allocations, and approved a draft memorandum of understanding with the Algerian Ministry of Water Resources for technical expertise exchange. Additionally, updates were presented regarding the strategic water and land resources study through 2035 and the engineering designs for the Basra barrier dam project.
