Parliamentary Demands for a Comprehensive Investigation into Suspected Corruption Regarding a Motorcycle Supply Contract in Anbar Province

Informed parliamentary sources have revealed significant violations and suspected corruption surrounding a government contract intended to supply the Traffic Directorate in Anbar Province with hundreds of motorcycles, with a total value exceeding 24 billion Iraqi dinars. The sources clarified that the estimated cost per motorcycle reached highly inflated figures equivalent to the prices of modern cars. Furthermore, there is clear manipulation of technical specifications, as older models were imported, violating the contract clauses which stipulated the provision of newer models. It was also noted that key clauses regarding the training of technical staff and maintenance were neglected. Parliamentary figures have called on regulatory and judicial bodies to intervene immediately to audit the bidding and receiving procedures and to hold those responsible accountable.
