President of Kurdistan Region Arrives in Baghdad on Intensive Official Visit
President of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani arrived today, Monday (May 4, 2026), in the capital Baghdad on an official two-day visit that includes intensive meetings with leaders of the Coordination Framework and political forces.
A statement from the Region's Presidency indicated that the visit aims to discuss the file of forming the new federal government, as well as review the latest developments in the national political scene.
The statement added that Barzani will meet with senior officials in the federal government to discuss relations between Erbil and Baghdad and ways to enhance joint cooperation in various fields.
The visit comes within the framework of ongoing efforts to accomplish political agreements and accelerate the process of forming the upcoming government.
