Strategic Advancement in Iraq's Air Defense System and Enhancement of Radar Monitoring
mesoiraq - Iraq is approaching a pivotal phase in bolstering its air defense capabilities, coinciding with the anticipated arrival of advanced weaponry systems and long-range radars, in a move aimed at enforcing national sovereignty over airspace and protecting vital infrastructure and economic sectors.
The Spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Nuaman, stated that these systems represent a qualitative leap in military capabilities, contributing to reducing reliance on external arrangements, preventing the use of local airspace in regional conflicts, and supporting the independence of security decision-making.
For his part, Member of the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee, Khaled Sido, stressed the necessity of reviewing financial allocations designated for the Ministry of Defense and directing them toward military priorities, in alignment with rapid technological advancements in countering modern threats such as drones and ballistic missiles.
