Success of the Arbaeen Communications Plan Accommodating Millions of Calls and Exceptional Data
Telecommunications networks in Iraq recorded unprecedented record numbers during the million-visitor ceremonies, reflecting the efficiency of the technical and regulatory plans adopted to accommodate the massive human density. Authorities concerned with the telecommunications sector announced the success of the national plan implemented in coordination with mobile phone companies, facilitating the transmission and reception of hundreds of millions of local and international calls, in addition to exchanging tens of thousands of terabytes of data. Statistics showed that social media and video-sharing applications topped the digital consumption volume of visitors. This stability in service quality is attributed to proactive measures that included expanding infrastructure, increasing frequency capacities, and deploying field engineering teams, confirming ongoing work to develop the communications system to meet the growing demand for digital use during major events.
