Urgent Government Directives to Address Irrigation Crises and Improve Water Resource Management in Salah al-Din

The Minister of Water Resources conducted an inspection tour of the Balad and Dujail districts in Salah al-Din Governorate to assess the state of water services and identify challenges facing the irrigation sector. The tour included meetings with local officials and tribal leaders to listen to citizens' demands. The Minister issued a package of technical directives to address existing issues, including lowering groundwater levels in modern drainage stations and developing the infrastructure of water channels to improve water flow. The decisions also included lining certain canals to reduce water waste and providing specialized machinery for the maintenance and cleaning of irrigation networks, in a move aimed at increasing the efficiency of water distribution and enhancing the sustainability of the water system in the governorate.
