mesoiraq - Member of Parliament Amer Abdul-Jabbar revealed precise statistics detailing the immense financial losses caused by the gap between the official exchange rate of the US dollar and its parallel market rate. In an official statement, he clarified that Iraq's losses due to this price discrepancy exceeded $27.312 billion during the tenure of the previous government, with a daily average of nearly $21 million. He added that these losses have continued to mount, recording over $2.155 billion recently, as the price gap reached record levels, the highest since 2003. He called on the Prime Minister to urgently conduct a comprehensive review of economic and monetary policies to stop the squandering of national wealth and redirect it toward strengthening the state's economic capabilities.
