Manama Calls for an Urgent UN Security Council Meeting to Halt Iranian Aggression, Reaffirms Joint Defense
The Bahraini Ministry of Foreign Affairs strongly condemned the ongoing Iranian attacks on its territory using ballistic missiles and drones, describing them as a systematic violation of sovereignty and a direct threat to citizens' security. Manama considered these strikes a clear evasion of international obligations and a blatant breach of UN Security Council resolutions and the recently signed Islamabad understandings regarding de-escalation. Bahrain urged the UN Security Council to hold an urgent session to take a firm stance to end these transgressions, stressing that compromising its security represents a threat to the entire Gulf Cooperation Council system, in accordance with the joint defense agreement.
