Omani Political Analyst: US President's Remarks Do Not Target the Sultanate, and Our Position is Rooted in Neutrality and De-escalation

Omani political analyst Khalfan Al-Touqi asserted that US President Donald Trump’s recent remarks mentioning the Sultanate of Oman do not warrant emotional reactions or exaggeration, explaining that the country was merely mentioned in passing while answering a specific press question regarding the Strait of Hormuz. Al-Touqi clarified that Omani policy is deeply rooted and renowned for its wisdom and positive neutrality, and that the Sultanate has never been, nor will it be, a party to any escalation that threatens regional stability—a stance continuously reaffirmed by Omani diplomacy. He noted that Trump's statements stem from comprehensive US interest calculations rather than targeting Muscat specifically, emphasizing that Oman’s diplomatic history is built on bridging divides and promoting international peace, steering clear of conflicts.
