Finance Ministry Directs Launch of ASYCUDA Phase Three to Enhance Customs Digital Transformation
Finance Minister Faleh Sari chaired an extensive meeting to follow up on the implementation stages of the electronic "ASYCUDA" system, attended by leaders of the General Commission of Customs and representatives from the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD). During the meeting, the Minister directed the upcoming launch of the project's third phase, considering it a fundamental pillar for modernizing the country's customs administration. He emphasized that the system will help simplify procedures, impose comprehensive oversight, and achieve maximum transparency, which will positively impact the maximization of non-oil revenues. For their part, technical experts and UNCTAD representatives confirmed the infrastructure's readiness to transition to the new phase, which will represent a quantum leap in the automation of border crossings.
