A 44,000-Ton Shipment of American Rice Arrives at the Port of Aqaba to Bolster Iraq's Food Basket

The General Company for Foodstuff Trading, affiliated with the Iraqi Ministry of Trade, announced the arrival of the vessel (EQUINOX DREAM) carrying 44,000 tons of American rice at the Jordanian port of Aqaba, in preparation for its transit to Iraq. The company's general administration clarified that the ship successfully delivered its cargo despite the navigational challenges and risks posed by the complex security situation in the region. The Ministry reaffirmed its ongoing commitment to securing the components of the food basket and essential supplies designated for social welfare in accordance with its strategic marketing plan. It also highlighted its high-level coordination with relevant authorities to ensure the smooth unloading and transportation of the shipment to distribution warehouses across all governorates, thereby achieving food security for citizens.
