Allocation of Lands for the Implementation of the One Million Housing Units National Initiative in Iraq

Government authorities concerned with the agricultural sector in Iraq confirmed the completion of sorting and selecting non-productive agricultural lands near city centers, in preparation for the national initiative aimed at building one million housing units across the governorates. This initiative aims to provide housing for eligible groups in accordance with legal regulations and planned urban expansion. The competent authorities emphasized their strict adherence to existing laws that prohibit the bulldozing of orchards and productive agricultural lands or repurposing them, ensuring that the allocation process is highly coordinated among housing, agriculture, and local administrative bodies to guarantee the project's success without compromising the country's agricultural areas.
