Diyala Criminal Court Sentences Court Executor and Employee to Three Years for Bribery

mesoiraq - The Diyala Criminal Court issued on Thursday (September 10, 2026) a three-year prison sentence against a court enforcement officer and another employee working at the enforcement department in Baquba, after convicting them of bribery.

According to the judiciary's media office, the convicts had received sums of money from a citizen in exchange for returning the ownership papers of a vehicle linked to one of the enforcement files at the department.

The statement clarified that the verdict was issued pursuant to Article 307 of the amended Penal Code under Resolution No. 160 of 1983, in conjunction with Articles 47, 48 and 49 of the law.
