Moqtada al-Sadr Issues Strict Recommendations for Najaf, Bans Commercial Use of al-Sadr Family Images
mesoiraq - The leader of the Sadrist movement, Sayyid Moqtada al-Sadr, issued on Thursday (September 10, 2026) a set of recommendations concerning Najaf province, warning against religious and health violations and banning the commercial use of images of the al-Sadr family.
Al-Sadr affirmed that Najaf is the capital of Shiism worldwide, stressing that no conduct that offends this holy city should be tolerated, and recommending strict oversight of markets, restaurants, shops and all products to ensure compliance with religious and health standards.
He also emphasized that female workers in public transport, particularly on flights heading to Najaf, must adhere to the hijab, calling for a ban on prohibited goods and everything that violates divine and human laws.
Al-Sadr further announced an absolute ban on the use of al-Sadr family images in all commercial fields, deeming it improper and vowing to take necessary action in case of non-compliance, stressing that the reputation of the al-Sadr family and Najaf are red lines that must never be crossed.
