Integrity Commission Halts Sale of Two Properties Below Market Prices in Anbar, Preventing Waste of 4.65 Billion Dinars

mesoiraq - The Federal Integrity Commission announced on Sunday (September 13, 2026) that it had managed to halt the sale procedures of two properties in Anbar Province at prices below market rates, noting that its measures contributed to preventing the waste of more than four billion and six hundred fifty million dinars of public funds.

The Commission stated in an official statement that a field team from the Anbar Investigation Office, during its visit to the State Real Estate Department in the province, uncovered violations in the valuation of two properties with a combined area of 186 dunams, which were scheduled to be sold through public auction, pointing out that the real value of the properties and the prevailing average prices were not properly determined; an issue that would have resulted in wasting an amount of 4,650,000,000 dinars of public money, before the Commission's measures led to stopping the auction.

The Commission added that the team, which also visited the Real Estate Registration and Urban Planning Directorates and the General Tax Authority in the province, detected violations in the valuation of the two properties, real estate registration and tax regulations, as well as the failure to accurately determine their locations, which led to undervaluing them.

The Commission indicated that the competent integrity investigative judge in Ramadi decided to halt the auction procedures and refrain from proceeding with them, notify the State Real Estate Department in Anbar of the decision, and order the recording of the statements of the legal representatives of the State Real Estate Department, the Real Estate Registration Directorate, Ramadi Municipality, and the General Tax Authority in the province, after an external audit report showed that the valuation of the two properties was conducted in violation of the State Property Sale and Lease Law No. 21 of 2013.
