Official Efforts to Resolve Delayed Salaries for Thousands of Government Contractors in Diyala

The Diyala Provincial Council confirmed taking urgent steps to resolve the delayed salary crisis for over 7,000 government contractors in the province, who have not received their financial dues for eight months. This move comes after the contractors organized protests in central Baqubah demanding their financial rights, following the deterioration of their living conditions due to the delays. The Council explained that an urgent official request was submitted to the Prime Minister's Office and the Ministry of Finance to expedite the payment of these dues. The Council expressed full solidarity with the legitimate demands of the protesters, emphasizing the need for equal treatment with their peers in other provinces.
