Strict Security Measures in Maysan.. Police Chief Dismissed and Senior Officers Transferred to Command

mesoiraq - Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Ali Al-Zaidi, directed today, Saturday (September 12, 2026), the dismissal of the Maysan Governorate police chief from his position, along with the transfer of a number of security directors to command and their referral to investigation.

Spokesman for the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces, Sabah Al-Nuaman, stated that the Prime Minister and Commander-in-Chief directed the dismissal of the Maysan Governorate police chief from his position.

Al-Nuaman added that Al-Zaidi also ordered the transfer of the directors of security agencies in the governorate to command and their referral to investigation, noting that these directives come in light of the recent security breaches witnessed in the governorate.
