Turkey Announces a New Trilateral Regional Protection Alliance Similar to the NATO Framework

The Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced the establishment of a trilateral alliance comprising Turkey, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Pakistan, noting that this new coalition structurally and operationally resembles the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO). The Ministry explained that the alliance is built on the principle of mutual defense, where an attack on one member state is considered an attack on all. The agreement also includes the formation of a joint ministerial committee and the appointment of a Secretary-General to coordinate defense efforts. It emphasized that this alliance is strictly defensive and does not target any specific country, but rather aims to protect regional security and address escalating external challenges.
