High-Level Security Meeting Between Baghdad and Erbil to Boost Intelligence Sharing
mesoiraq - The head of the Counter-Terrorism Service, Lieutenant General Zaid al-Hoshy al-Mousawi, met on Thursday (September 10, 2026) with the Interior Minister of the Kurdistan Region, Reber Ahmed, in a high-level security meeting.
The Counter-Terrorism Service stated that the meeting addressed a number of priority security files between the center and the region, foremost among them developing coordination mechanisms, exchanging information and expertise, and enhancing integration between security institutions to confront terrorist challenges and threats.
Both sides stressed the need to continue cooperation and unify joint efforts, enhancing the security agencies' capacity to pursue remnants of terrorist groups, dry up their sources of support, respond to challenges and consolidate security and stability across the country.
