Interior Ministry Announces Arrest of Wanted Persons and Violators in Baghdad
mesoiraq - The Ministry of Interior announced the implementation of a preemptive security operation and a search campaign in Al-Zafaraniya area on the Rusafa side of the capital Baghdad, resulting in the arrest of a number of wanted persons and violators.
The ministry's official spokesman, Colonel Dr. Mohamed Ali Al-Hassoun, said that Baghdad Rusafa Police Command, with the participation of a supporting force and multiple formations, carried out a wide search campaign in Al-Zafaraniya area (Sayed Hashim), pursuant to the directives of the ministry's senior undersecretary Hussein Al-Awadi to pursue wanted persons, seize unlicensed weapons and enforce the law.
Al-Hassoun added that the campaign resulted in the arrest of a suspect practicing sorcery, 9 residency violators, and two individuals in possession of unlicensed weapons, in addition to seizing a Kalashnikov rifle and a pistol.
He confirmed that those arrested were placed in custody for legal procedures, while preemptive campaigns continue to enhance security and stability in the capital.
