Major Security Operation in Al-Bataween Leads to Arrests of Wanted Suspects and Violators
mesoiraq - Security forces carried out a large-scale inspection campaign in the Al-Bataween area of central Baghdad as part of preventive measures aimed at strengthening security, enforcing the law and pursuing wanted individuals and violators.
Specialized security and intelligence units participated in the operation alongside traffic, civil defense and tourism security authorities. The campaign included residential inspections, the seizure of unlicensed weapons and checks on residency violations.
The operation resulted in the arrest of eight suspects wanted under various legal provisions, including an individual accused in a case involving money laundering and terrorism financing, in addition to 65 residency violators.
A shop selling alcoholic beverages was also closed for violating regulations, while all detainees were placed in custody pending completion of the required legal procedures.
